Camp Eureka
" A Waldorf-Inspired Experience"
July 21st - 27th
Camp Eureka is in its 15th year of creating summer camps for children ages 8-17. This year our week-long program for children ages 10-12, primarily the 4th, 5th and 6th grade children, will be inspired by the Waldorf school curriculum. Through art, games, theatre, gardening, poetry, music and dance, we weave together a week-long venture of fun, work and team-building. We have a passion for creating community within the duration of the week. It is evident by the closing ceremony each year, of the depth of experience each camper holds.
We are seeking out families who are inspired by the movement and art developed for this age group in Waldorf schools or who are interested in experiencing something new and challenging.
- Pentathlon Training – Javelin, discus, obstacle course, running, relays,
- Art – working with natural fibers and materials to create from the environment
- Drama – performing arts, improve, theatre games, stories, singing
Along with these activities, the Eureka Center has just built a ropes course. We will have full instruction available from properly trained and certified instructors. Please see the website for more details.
This program is intentionally designed to:
- Build trust, respect and cooperation
- Inspire self-esteem
- Continued physical fitness
- Develop team-building
We offer 3 meals and 2 snacks each day, where our cooking staff prepares healthy organic meals to suit the tastes of the children and where diet restrictions are incorporated into the menu. Much of the food is grown on the land in our organic garden.
